"It is necessary to define, as we have done in the plane monetary policy, criteria of social convergence, and the best method would be to do it with 10-year objectives and intermediate meeting points that allow us to do the same work at the social level that we have done at a monetary and economic level, "said Macron.
The French president transmitted this proposal to the press at the end of the social summit, an initiative of Sweden, held today. in Gothenburg, in which the three European institutions and the Twenty-eight proclaimed the "European Pillar of Social Rights", a text with twenty labor and equality principles, although without binding rules derived.
Macron considered that this text should lead to "concrete actions essential for collective credibility".
Regarding the criteria of Convergence, considered that the EU should "link the structural and social funds" to the social agenda.
"It is not about presenting them today, but the idea is that we have seen the effectiveness of a device as well, and I think we have to link in the next financial perspectives the structural and social funds to the realization of these criteria of social convergence, "he said. Macron.
Macron also advocated "doing the same in tax matters" and the environment.
